Free credits for browser agents and agent backends: Steel, Hyperbrowser, Inngest and more

Updated 4 min readMarkdown

An agent that uses the web needs more than a model. It needs a browser to drive, somewhere to run code, and something to retry and schedule its steps. Most vendors in those layers offer a free allowance that needs only a signup. Three of them went public on Perq this morning: Steel and Hyperbrowser (cloud browsers) and Inngest (workflow orchestration). Each figure below is the vendor's own wording, checked on its page, with the date we last verified it.

Cloud browsers

Steel gives a one-time credit on its free Launch plan. Per its pricing page, that plan comes with 10 concurrent browser sessions, sessions up to 15 minutes and up to 3 seats.

Steel ($30 of credits, one time, on the free Launch plan ($0 per month + usage))

Hyperbrowser counts usage in credits. Its pricing page says 1,000 credits equal $1 of usage, and that the free allowance is enough for 50 browser hours or 5,000 fetched pages at base rates.

Hyperbrowser (5,000 credits with a free account (1,000 credits = $1 in usage))

For comparison, here are the browser and page-fetch free tiers we already list:

  • Steel ($30 of credits, one time, on the free Launch plan ($0 per month + usage))
  • Hyperbrowser (5,000 credits with a free account (1,000 credits = $1 in usage))
  • Browserbase (Free plan ($0/mo) incl. $5 in model tokens, 1,000 search/fetch calls)
  • Firecrawl (1,000 credits/month free)

A practical way to choose: Steel's credit is one-time, so it suits a short evaluation. Firecrawl's allowance is per month, so it suits a small agent that runs every day. Browserbase is a $0/mo plan with its own limits. Hyperbrowser gives a fixed pool of credits you spend at your own pace.

Running agent steps: workflows and sandboxes

Inngest's Free plan needs no credit card. Per its page it includes 5 concurrent steps and 3 workers alongside the limits below, and the SDK is open source.

Inngest (Free plan $0/mo: 50k executions, 500k events ingested, 5 seats per month)

If your agent writes and runs code, a sandbox matters more than a browser. These are the no-application options we track for workflows and sandboxes:

  • Inngest (Free plan $0/mo: 50k executions, 500k events ingested, 5 seats per month)
  • Trigger.dev ($5/month free credits (Free plan, $0/month))
  • E2B ($100 one-time usage credit (Hobby, no credit card))
  • Daytona ($200 in free compute included)

E2B and Daytona give one-time usage credits. Trigger.dev gives monthly credits. Inngest is a plain free tier measured in executions and events, not dollars.

The agent infrastructure pack

All three new offers are now in the agent infrastructure pack. It groups sandboxes, browsers, search, memory and orchestration, and shows the total only for offers that state one explicit one-time USD amount:

Also public today: watching and storing what the agent does

Four data and observability free tiers went public at the same time. They have been added to the data and observability pack:

  • Arize AI (AX Free: 25k trace spans and 1 GB ingestion per month, 15-day retention, unlimited users)
  • Sentry (Developer plan, Free $0: error monitoring and tracing for one user, with MCP access)
  • Turso (Free $0/month: 100 databases, 5GB storage, 500 million rows read and 10 million rows written per month)
  • Redis (Free Redis Cloud database, always $0, up to 30 MB)

Arize AX Free is aimed at LLM tracing and evals (unlimited users). Sentry's Developer plan is limited to one user and includes MCP access. Turso's free plan allows 100 databases, which suits one database per agent or per user. Redis Cloud's free database is capped at 30 MB.

Before you sign up

  • Free allowances change often. Each card above links to the vendor's page and shows when we last checked it. Read the current terms before you build on one.
  • One-time credits run out. If an agent runs on a schedule, note the date you start so you know when you will begin paying.
  • The seven offers above that went public today also joined the bootstrapped, no-application pack, since none of them needs an application.

Subscribers to Perq early access got these offers a day before they appeared here. You can sign up for early access by email or by webhook.
